Top 10 brunch spots for a late breakfast
Barselona Brunch Mekanları

In Barcelona, weekends mean brunch! Especially on weekends, you can find brunch menus at almost every venue. I’ll try to share some great places I’ve been to and heard about from friends in this list. Additionally, most places get very crowded on weekends, so it’s a good idea to make a reservation in advance.

What is Brunch?

The concept of brunch, which emerged in England in the late 1800s, was initially used to describe the late breakfasts enjoyed by upper-class British families on Sundays after church.

The term was first coined by Guy Beringer in his 1895 article titled Brunch: A Plea published in Hunter’s Weekly. Beringer suggested having a lighter meal later in the morning instead of an early Sunday breakfast. Unsurprisingly, the biggest supporters of this idea were those who stayed out late partying on Saturday nights.

Tips for Brunch in Barcelona

If you’re planning to have brunch in Barcelona, a few practical tips might come in handy. First, I highly recommend making reservations for almost all venues on weekends. If you want to try your luck without a reservation, be prepared to wait. Popular spots like Milk, Firebug, and Billy Brunch are particularly hard to get into without a reservation, especially during peak hours between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

For a quieter experience, consider visiting during the week or outside peak hours. While coffee quality is generally good across the city, Caravelle and Flat Cafe stand out for their exceptional brews.

Whether you’re craving a classic Eggs Benedict, a sweet pancake, or a healthy bowl, you’ll surely find a spot that suits your taste from this list. I’ll continue updating the list as I explore more places!
